About QVR

What is QVR?

A surfboard marketplace app for Europe. Private sellers, shapers and shops list new and used surfboards, and surfers find them by shape, size and location.

How is QVR different from general classifieds?

QVR lists surfboards only. You can filter by category, length, volume, condition and location, see boards on a map and open the profiles of the shapers and shops behind them.

Is the app available?

QVR is in beta. The beta section on this page shows the current way in: the app download, or the waitlist while places are limited.

Who is behind QVR?

QVR is built by its three co-founders, Daniel, Jesse and Alex. Their story is on the About page.

How do I contact QVR?

Write to us by email or on Instagram. The contact page lists every option.

Buying and selling boards

Which boards can I find on QVR?

Surfboards in eight categories: shortboard, fish, hybrid, mid-length, funboard, longboard, gun and soft-top. SUPs, bodyboards, wind and kite boards and accessories are not listed.

Are the boards new or used?

Both. Every listing states its condition: New, Like new, Good, Fair or Needs repair. Shop storefronts show their new and used boards separately.

How do I find a board?

Browse the board listings in the app. Check the photos, shape, dimensions, condition and location, save a listing or contact the seller.

How do I contact a seller?

Open the listing and send the seller a message in the app. You can also message a shaper or shop directly from their storefront, without a listing.

Does QVR handle payment?

No. The sale happens between buyer and seller, who agree on payment and pickup in their conversation. QVR takes no commission.

Where do I pick up a board?

Each listing shows the pickup area. Private sellers share an exact meeting point only in the conversation; shops show their address.

How do I sell a board?

Add photos and your board’s details in the app: category, dimensions, condition and pickup area. Publish the listing and hear from interested buyers.

Does selling cost anything?

No subscription is needed to sell: private sellers and businesses on Free can have three active listings at a time. Optional Boosts give a listing more visibility for a fee.

Where can I find shapers and shops?

Open the shapers and shops section in the app to see what they make, where they work and how to get in touch. Shapers with a public profile are also listed on the shapers page.

Shapers and shops on QVR

How do shapers and shops join QVR?

In the app, an account can become a business as a shaper or shop, with its name, address and a website or Instagram link; QVR then approves it. QVR can also set up the storefront for you and import your boards once from Shopify, WooCommerce or a simple list.

What is free for shapers and shops?

A storefront with your location, an about text and three active listings, plus your shapes and cover photo for shapers. Buyers contact you through QVR, and QVR takes no commission on sales.

What does Premium add?

Premium is one plan for every business: up to 50 active listings, one Bump or Feed ad included each billing month (you can save up to three; the Top spot is always paid), website, Instagram and other links, a highlighted pin on the map, statistics over time and a direct line to the QVR team. Shapers can add their story with photos and video, and their models. Shops get a cover photo. An ongoing Shopify or WooCommerce sync is available on request.
